Yes, we provide technical support for all our web applications, mobile apps, and browser extensions.

How long is Teams Chat Backup officially supported?

Teams Chat Backup is officially supported until December 31, 2026. During this period, we commit to providing:

• Bug fixes and security updates
• Compatibility updates for Microsoft Teams interface changes
• Technical support and customer assistance

Users will be notified at least 90 days in advance if we decide to discontinue the extension after the support period.

Do I need to use the same Google account as my Microsoft Teams account?

No, you do not! This is a common question, and the answer is simple: your Google account and Microsoft account are completely separate.

How it works:

• Google Account: Used only to sign in to the extension and verify your license
• Microsoft Account: The account you're logged into Teams with in your browser

Example: You can sign in to the extension with "[email protected]" while backing up Teams conversations from your "[email protected]" Microsoft account. They don't need to match at all!

Why do I need a Google account if I'm backing up Microsoft Teams?

The Google account is used exclusively for extension authentication and license verification. It has nothing to do with accessing your Teams data.

What the Google account is used for:

• Verifying you have a valid license for the extension
• Authenticating you as a legitimate user

What it is NOT used for:

• Accessing your Microsoft Teams data
• Storing your backup files
• Any interaction with Microsoft services

All Teams data access happens through your browser session with whichever Microsoft account you're logged into Teams with.

Where are my backup files stored?

All backup files are stored locally on your computer in a location you choose. We do not store, access, or upload any of your Teams conversation data to our servers or any cloud service. You have complete control and ownership of your backup files.

Can I use different accounts for the extension and Teams?

Absolutely yes! The accounts are completely independent:

• Sign in to the extension with any Google/Gmail account (e.g., "[email protected]")
• Use Teams with any Microsoft account (e.g., "[email protected]")
• The extension will backup conversations from whatever Microsoft account you're logged into Teams with
• No connection or linking between the two accounts is required

Is this extension affiliated with Microsoft?

No, Teams Chat Backup is an independent third-party Chrome extension and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Microsoft Corporation. It is developed and maintained by Bullfighter Studio.
